So often, on election day, unexpected events can prevent you from getting to the polling station - you may be called away at the last minute because of work or family emergencies. Awful weather can strike suddenly or you may have transport or mobility difficulties.

The safest way to ensure your voice is heard is to apply for a postal vote.

Elections are always very close in South West Surrey so your vote really does make a difference here.

In 2007, even if you have had a postal vote before - you must complete a new form due to new laws to prevent electoral fraud.
