Surrey - Worst Council in England - It's Official

Surrey County Council is one of only four councils in the country which has a ONE STAR RATING. Conservative-run Surrey joins Haringey and Doncaster who have both been in the national news due to the dreadful state of their Children Services. Three out of five areas covered in a recent Ofsted report on Surrey's services were described as inadequate - the worst possible rank.

Cllr Chris Slyfield said, "We demanded the Leader of Council resign. Someone needs to take some responsibility for the outrageous mess this service is in. The Conservative leader of Surrey County Council is failing local residents". The County Council wasted more taxpayers money by trying to appeal the decision, rather than investing money in the service. "This is a chance to improve the service and the Conservatives are doing nothing to address their failings" said Chris.
