Michael Biddiscombe (Borough candidate for Hindhead; Town candidate for Shottermill) Michael Biddiscombe has lived in Haslemere for 47 years. He was elected as a Councillor for Shottermill in 1991, serving on the Borough Council for 8 years, including 1 year as Mayor, and then for 8 years on Haslemere Town Council. He is a member of Kings Road Residents Association and is closely concerned with local issues. If elected, he will use his past experience as Chairman of Haslemere Town Council's Planning Committee to closely scrutinise local planning applications. He feels passionately about maintaining the history and beauty of our area by limited and balanced building in appropriate locations. |

Maureen Hinton (Borough and Town Candidate for Hindhead) Maureen Hinton has lived in Beaconhill for 10 years. She is passionate about reinforcing the community spirit within the village and in Hindhead generally, ensuring it is a pleasant and safe place to live.She is the local ambassador for the White Ribbon UK Campaign, working with the Government to deliver a cross-party strategy to end violence towards women and girls. She also started the "Snow Angels" groups, which helps to clear snow around the village. Maureen also works with the Heavy Brigade, planting up the raised flower beds at Woodcock Green with spring bulbs this year. |

Jacqueline Keen (Town Candidate for Critchmere) Jacquieline Keen has lived in Haslemere all her life, and loves the ambience of the town. She has worked with local crime prevention initiatives to keep it that way. She was on Haslemere Town Council for over 20 years, and was a Waverley Councillor for 9 years before 2007. She served as both Mayor of Haslemere and Mayor of Waverley. She believes in strong local communities and local democracy, and if elected would always be approachable and happy to listen to residents' concerns, and to help where possible, ensuring that everyone has a voice in local government. |

Carolann Martys (Borough candidate for Haslemere East & Grayswood ;Town candidate for Haslemere North & Grayswood) Carolann Martys retired to Haslemere in 2001. She has a background in drama and television. After working as a drama teacher and therapist in top-security prisons started a charity - Independent Arts - which provided therapeutic arts to various institutions, serving as Company Director. She also spent five years writing and teaching in Spain.She now serves as Patron of Independent Arts, Honorary Chair of Operations for Opera South and committee member of the Haslemere Twinning Association. She also works as a volunteer steward for Crossway's Counselling service. She will use all her skills and experience to benefit local residents if elected. |

Peter Nicholson (Borough Candidate for Shottermill & Critchmere; Town Candidate for Shottermill) Peter Nicholson has lived in Haslemere for 25 years and is the Chairman of his local Residents' Association.He has previously been a member of Waverley Borough Council on two occasions.Now retired, he worked in the coal industry for over 30 years, being particularly involved in the scientific, planning and marketing fields.Peter's interests include walking, reading and theatre, and he will work hard to represent the views of local residents if elected on May 5th. |

Jennifer Radford (Borough Candidate for Shottermill & Critchmere; Town Candidate for Haslemere South) Jennifer Radford has lived in Haslemere since 2000. She has a degree in Public Health and wide experience in healthcare provision, seting up one of the first occupational health (OH) services within the NHS. She also worked as a teacher and lecturer and advised on and implemented OH education & training for the World Health Organisation. Locally, she ran a Youth Club for 5 years. Jennifer cares about a wide range of issues: public health and safety; the environment and recycling; housing, planning and countryside; services for children, young people, the disabled and elderly; domestic and institutional abuse and neglect. |

Dominique Shoham (Town candidate Shottermill) Dominique Shoham has lived in Haslemere for 25 years. Having gained a degree in psychology, she worked at ICI in Fernhurst for 10 years before leaving to bring up her two children, who attended local schools and are now both at university. While raising her family, she worked at Shottermill Junior School as an ICT Technician and in various voluntary roles, including as a Guide leader and helping to run several junior teams at Grayswood Cricket Club. Her interests include languages, cooking and gardening.Dominique is standing for election as she would like to get more involved in local affairs. |

Geoffrey Whitby (Borough Candidate for Shottermill and Critchmere;Town Candidate for Hindhead) Geoffrey Whitby, 46, has lived in Beacon Hill for 25 years. Having worked in the local NHS for twenty years as an audiologist, he now works for one the largest hearing aid manufactures in Europe. A keen cyclist and naturalist, he has a strong interest in local issues. He was a Haslemere Town Councillor in the 1990s, serving as Chair of Planning for one year. For the past 5 years, he has been on the Haslemere Charter Fair committee.If elected, Geoffrey would bring a wealth of experience in healthcare and will also support cyclists, off and on the road. |
