Sir Menzies Campbell recently met local Liberal Democrats to support the campaign
The Liberal Democrats are pledging to keep Council Tax DOWN for another four years. The Lib Dems have kept their promises on tax by keeping Waverley Borough Council's rises below inflation for two years in a row.
However, the Conservatives at Surrey County Council have sent taxes rocketing yet again - the average (band D) Waverley household will pay over £43 more to County Hall this year.
Last time the Conservatives were in charge of Waverley, they BROKE their promises on tax.
Before being elected they pledged to not increase council tax above inflation - but instead increased taxes 16% above inflation.
Despite keeping taxes down, the Lib Dems have overseen recycling reaching a record high and better investment in community services such as the Hoppa bus service, day centres, youth drop-in centres, parks and playgrounds.
