Don't let your Christmas tree rot in a landfill site this year, help the environment by composting it.
There are a number of ways you can recycle your tree in Waverley.
1. Compost at home
If you have a garden, even if it's small, you can establish a very successful compost heap. Waverley Borough Council offers a range of compost units all at subsidised prices. For more information and to download an order form, click on the following link.

2. Community Recycling Centres or Council 'tips'
Your old Christmas tree can be taken to any of the Community Recycling Centres in Waverley for composting. There are three sites run by Surrey Waste Management Ltd in the Borough.
Petworth Road, Witley, Godalming
Elmbridge Road, Cranleigh
Bourne Mill, Guildford Road, Farnham
The winter opening hours are 8:00am - 4:15pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am - 4:15pm at the weekends, all the sites will be closed on News Years Day.
3. Temporary recycling site in Haslemere
On Sunday 8th January 2006, for one day only, you can take your Christmas tree to two sites in Haslemere for shredding and composting.
Weyhill car park, Haslemere 9:00 - 11:00am
Beacon Hill car park, Hindhead 12:00 - 1:00pm
There is the option to take the shredded material home if you would like to use it in your garden.
