Cllr Haveron says Affordable Housing an urgent issue in light of no vote

Waverley Portfolio Holder for planning, Lib Dem Councillor Patrick Haveron, commented: "In the light of the no vote affordable housing becomes even harder to deliver in Waverley. The prospect of the Housing Stock transfer as a funding vehicle for 350 affordable houses over 10 years did seem an important outcome for Waverley. However latest Housing Need studies indicates that Waverley should build a much higher number of affordable houses per year, to maintain a sustainable community. I do not know where that funding will come from.
I am determined, however, to make the Planning system work even harder for us to deliver affordable housing"
