On behalf of Waverley residents, Lib Dem councillors are planning to send a thorough and detailed response to the Guildford and Waverley Primary Care Trust's invitation to comment on proposals for the modernisation of local healthcare.
To provide a response that is representative of people's views, Waverley Lib Dems are encouraging residents to contact them with their views as well as responding direct to the Trust. Cranleigh Lib Dem Councillor Celia Savage, Waverley's deputy leader and portfolio holder for parishes says: "To a greater or lesser extent, each of the five options being proposed by the Primary Care Trust includes the closure of beds or hospitals in Waverley. The consultation document has far reaching consequences for every resident in Waverley, so I would urge as many people as possible to look at and respond to the consultation document."
She added: "The Trust has said they will listen to everything that is said, so the more people who respond, the more meaningful this consultation exercise will be."
Anybody can respond to the consultation document which contains proposals for the future of services at Milford Hospital, Cranleigh Hospital, Haslemere Hospital, Farnham Hospital and proposed service developments at Godalming.
Residents can be sent a copy of the consultation document by calling 01252 305700, writing to the PCT or e-mailing them at: consultation@gwpct.nhs.uk.
Alternatively, the document and response form can be viewed at www.gwpct.nhs.uk. Residents can also have their say by attending one of public meetings which are being held between now and the end of January at:
