Waverley residents will soon have an opportunity to meet personally with Waverley's leader and chief executive to discuss important local issues at a public question session in Haslemere on Friday 25 November.
The public question session, being held at Haslemere Locality office between 11am and 1pm, will enable local people to ask questions about any aspect of Waverley's services and wider issues impacting on the borough. Lib Dem Councillor Gillian Ferguson, leader of Waverley Borough Council, explains: "This session will enable residents to speak directly with myself and the chief executive about any issues or concerns they may have about Waverley.
"This is not just an opportunity for you to voice your concerns and gain answers to questions relating to matters such as planning, housing and environmental health, but over any local issue. If your concern is broader than Waverley's immediate council services then we will endeavour to offer advice where we can and at the very least to point you in the right direction."
"One of the council's key aims is to 'listen to and be accountable to the people of Waverley' and I strongly believe that by being better informed about the community's needs, Waverley can work more effectively and efficiently on behalf of all of its residents."
The first hour of the session will be set aside for pre-booked, timed appointments. For the rest of the session members of the public will be seen on a 'first come first served' basis. Residents are advised to pre-book an appointment to ensure that the leader and chief executive can provide as detailed an answer to your query as possible.
This innovative event aims to be as inclusive as possible and ensure that Waverley is able to concentrate its efforts on listening to the views of residents about the many varied issues affecting the borough. This session is part of a regular programme of such meetings that are scheduled to take place in Haslemere, Cranleigh, Farnham and Godalming. In addition, the timings will vary at each session between the morning, afternoon and evening to ensure that they are open to all residents who may wish to attend.
To pre-book an appointment at the session between 11am and 12 noon please call 01483 523208, or alternatively turn up at 12 noon for the final hour when no appointment is needed.
