In an interesting farewell article on Virginia Bottomley in 15th April Surrey Advertiser, she spoke of how she lacked the motivation to continue after 21 years, and of whom might succeed her as MP for South West Surrey. Virginia said in the Surrey Ad "But there comes a moment when you have given all you can and it is time to make way for a candidate with the energy, enthusiasm and the fresh approach and idealism I had when I started"
Considering that the Libdems are setting the pace here, she seems to be summing up the characteristics of Simon rather well! There is no better candidate than Simon, and we are proud of his energy, enthusiasm, idealism, and of course his fresh approach to our local issues, which was highlighted with the U-turn he forced Virginia to make over the closure of Milford Hospital.
Thanks for the endorsement Virginia!
