A packed Milford Village Hall witnessed the formal adoption of Simon Cordon as South West Surrey's Liberal Democrat candidate. Keynote speaker was Guildford MP Sue Doughty, who talked of the fight at the last election, and how she was determined to return on May 6th with Simon as the 'Surrey Two'.
The event also featured a rousing endorsement by SW Surrey Constituency chair and Farnham South County candidate Derek Seale. Previous PPC Neil Sherlock added a wry and amusing look at the strong and positive campaign we have fought over the last 12 years, and the astonishing success achieved in narrowing Virginia's majority.
Simon himself promised to not only exceed our expectations for a local MP, as a full time campaigner - with no other business priorities - but that we should expect him to become a powerful voice in Parliament.
These are truly exciting times for South West Surrey.
