Simon attends a strategy meeting with Liberal Democrat MPs at the House of Commons
Simon Cordon, the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for SW Surrey, was called upon by party leader Charles Kennedy to join a strategy meeting of Liberal Democrat MPs in the House of Commons recently.
Charles Kennedy is keen to ensure that the people he expects to be part of his new team after the general election can 'hit the ground running' and will be fully up to speed with the way the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Party sets priorities for the week ahead.
"It was a military style gathering", said Simon. "There was first-class communication with a clear plan as to how the party would ensure effective coverage on all the major issues in the Commons, whilst allowing MPs to concentrate maximum time on work in their constituencies, something that is very important to us as Liberal Democrats and certainly top of my agenda".
At the last general election Simon came just 861 votes away from taking the SW Surrey constituency from the Conservatives. Charles Kennedy has declared the seat a 'top target' for the Liberal Democrats describing Simon as "an effective campaigner who is getting things done" and a "real asset" to the Liberal Democrat team.
