The Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate for SW Surrey, Simon Cordon, continued his tour of local schools on Tuesday (November 23rd), giving a citizenship class to pupils when he spent the afternoon at Busbridge Junior School.
Simon spent most of the session answering a wide range of questions from the children.
The benefit of these citizenship classes is that pupils study the subject of elections, democracy and government beforehand. They then test out issues with Simon during the session and then do some follow up work.
"Ten and eleven year olds may not be voters yet but I believe all of us in public life have a responsibility to share some of our time with youngsters as part of an overall aim of getting greater understanding of the importance of government and democracy", said Simon.
