Simon Cordon with pupils before taking the lesson on citizenship
Simon Cordon took a class of ten and eleven years olds at St. Edmund's Catholic Primary School on Tuesday 7th June.
The visit to St. Edmund's, Godalming, was the latest in Simon's tour of schools across South West Surrey.
"At St. Edmund's I was asked to take a class to discuss a whole range of citizenship issues, ranging from why voting is important, why people pay taxes and the job of an MP", said Simon, who was the LibDem candidate at the last general election in SW Surrey.
"I was really impressed by the general grasp that the pupils had of the issues, including current local issues such as the future of Milford Hospital. They were very well informed".
The LibDem campaigner also discussed D-Day with the children and did a question and answer session on the European Union and the single currency. "Views were as mixed and lively as they are amongst adults on these subjects", said Simon.
