The result last time in SW Surrey was: Con 45%, LibDem 40% and Lab just 9%.
Liberal Democrat Leader Charles Kennedy MP has said SW Surrey is high on his party's target list for gaining at the general election.
At the last general election the Liberal Democrats gave the Conservatives a fright in what had previously been considered a 'safe seat' for them. The LibDems closed the margin to just 2,700 votes with Labour trailing third again, this time on just 9%.
South West Surrey is one of the LibDems' best prospects. In the past few months Conservatives have started running scared, upping their campaigning to levels never seen before and targeting all their fire on the Liberal Democrats. It is also known that Conservative Central Office has placed South West Surrey on their 'at risk' list.
Last year, the BBC confirmed that South West Surrey would be a closely fought contest between the LibDems and Tories, when they included the seat in a list of obvious 'Liberal Democrat targets'.
