Surrey's tightest marginal will be closely watched with the LibDems and Hague's Conservatives neck and neck.
Liberal Democrats in marginal South West Surrey hit the ground running on the first day of the General Election.
The seat, which includes Farnham, Godalming and Haslemere, is high on the Liberal Democrats hit list, with party leader, Charles Kennedy, describing as a "top target". Mr Kennedy has already visited the seat four times. Other big hitters coming to support the campaign are Shirley Williams and former leader Paddy Ashdown.
At the last election the LibDems were within 2,700 votes of the Conservatives, making the seat the tightest marginal in the County.
Within hours of the election announcement LibDem supporters were out and about delivering leaflets and putting up poster boards. "We are off to a flying start", said candidate Simon Cordon. "I am absolutely delighted. On day one we are already ahead of our opponents and look like a party determined to win, and that's what all of our efforts will be focused upon over the next four weeks".
